AFTER BASQUIAT: FRAGMENTED IMAGERY | MISCHIEVOUS THOUGHTS
I wish extend a very special invitation to you to join me at my first solo exhibition of mixed media photography. I have called the show:
After Basquiat: Fragmented Imagery | Mischievous Thoughts. These days, I find that I spend many more hours observing people, trying to understand what makes us tick and sometimes simply smiling at the way we are. I have a humanist eye for everyday life, and everyday people, and like a child, I continue to have several questions. In this exhibition I am blurring the lines between photography and art and allowing a freedom of expression. In this way, I share a bit of the noise going on in my head using some aspects of the style of the Haitian-American artist, Jean-Michel Basquiat and…with a little help of technology, the QR code.= that gives you a bit more information. I hope what I have to say also has meaning for you and that at minimum you simply enjoy the show. more than that I hope you take a piece away with you. Thank you for joining my journey …. And l look forward to welcoming you at 101 Gallery, at 84 Woodford Street, Newtown, Port-of-Spain, Trinidad either at the opening on 16 May or the 17 and 18 May.

Island States like Trinidad and Tobago face a serious threat caused by climate change. Photography provides the evidence but also allows me to be an advocate for change. Between 7-10 March 2019 at the Clio Art Fair, 335 W35th Street, New York City, New York, USA. I will present a photographic series entitled “A New Earth”. This short 16 image series shows the destruction that we witness around us but also the opportunity for change. Change for a New Earth. Even now we still the natural beauty in our beaches and tremendous blue skies with clean air, our rivers, the beautiful Scarlet Ibis, our National Bird. We, the people of Trinidad and Tobago and any other place in the world are responsible for change. Our perspective is important and change starts now. The images are available in editions of 10 and sales will open on 7 March 2019. [Go to Shop]

My work focuses on the Soul of Varanasi, India. Varanasi, an 11th century city, sits on the banks of the River Ganges in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh. Everyday before dawn the people of Varanasi welcome a new day with spirituality. There, under the bright morning light, the reflections of colour on water, devotion, love, energy, light and peace. Authenticity motivates this photographic series.
